Overview
Mary Harris vede dvojí život. Ve dne pracuje jako uznávaná lékařka na pohotovosti, ovšem v noci to je jiná písnička. Spolu se svým partnerem, bývalým plastickým chirurgem, hrdinka brouzdá městem a vykonává práci jako anděl smrti. Pomáhá smrtelně nemocným pacientům odejít z tohoto světa za jejich vlastních podmínek. Až dosud se Mary dařilo zůstávat mimo hledáček autorit. Smrt je však populární téma. Podnikání se rozrůstá a její dvojí život se čím dál více komplikuje. Když se jí pomalu situace začne rozpadat pod rukama, Mary si uvědomí, že jestli i nadále chce zůstat v této zabijácké hře, musí začít hrát špinavou hru.

In the third and final chapter, Dr. Mary Harris must come face-to-face with her own personal choices, ethics, and demons in a way she never has before. The death retreat is up and running, but its cover as a legitimate hospice is crumbling away and with it the idyllic vision Mary and Des had for continuing their work in quiet secrecy. With Mary’s family and the work she loves in jeopardy once more, she realizes she is finally going to have to put life, with all of its complexities and imperfections, first.
