What did you all think of the season finale?!

Good, looking forward to next season, the scene at the frozen lake was too easy, they didn't seem cold and fatigue enough, still pretty dramatic though

NOT FRED

Is he dead? So each season is a murder mystery? They need to get Jughead back to Riverdale High, although it was really cool how he quickly fit in and had the other kids laughing. I am wondering about a love triangle? Does the show need one? It seems Archie-Veronica-Cheryl is possible because Archie saved Cheryl's life. She is a mastermind at creating doubt/conflict in others and could have Archie and Veronica on the outs in 2 seconds. Also, with the Blossom mansion gone, is their a vacancy in Veronica's building? That would be funny having Archie visiting both of them in the same place. Did they ever go back to Jughead and Betty after the Serpent interruption? They declared their love but have they ever had sex?

The love triangle is still going to be between Archie, Betty, and Veronica. Cheryl is bat**** crazy. The finale was good. The show did well enough to get renewed on CW but I'm sure the network is disappointed with it. I think they believed it would be a much bigger hit than it is.

I think Veronica's mom had Fred killed for the company

It's pretty clear to me that Hiram Lodge ordered the hit on Fred Andrews. Poor Archie busting his hand to save Cheryl. Of course I'm glad he did, but as a musician, a shattered hand is a setback he may never recover from. Cheryl's arson is probably not covered by her parent's insurance, but then again the police were probably just going to confiscate everything anyway.

I'm impressed the writers didn't make JB snitch to avoid prison. Storywise, it would have been the easiest thing in the world, but no way would JB have done that.

Interesting to see what they do with Betty's brother next season. (Chick Cooper?) There isn't a character who matches his demographic, so you know he hasn't been introduced yet. Betty's going to put her sleuthing skills to work to go find him. Wouldn't it be interesting if the triangle is Archie-Veronica-Chick? (though he's too old to date a 16 year old, but they might not stop Veronica from trying to stake her claim)

I can think of two things that hurt the show right out of the gate.

1) It should have been billed and promoted as a subversive take on Archie right from the get go, instead of a live action adaptation. A lot of Archie fans were looking forward to this and were shocked by the creative liberties. I was one of them. It was only when I read an interview that explained that the franchise was being helmed by a diehard fan who wanted to appeal to people in Archie's actual age group that I understood and appreciated what the show had managed to accomplish.

2) They shouldn't have trotted out pedo Ms. Grudy front and center in episode one. I think having a sex offender as a major character really put off a lot of viewers. Worse, some people didn't see here as a force of evil, and took her manipulation and lies at face value, and rose up in her defense, which just made it more disturbing. (I couldn't believe people were actually surprised to see her scoping out young boys in a new town.) She vanished midseason and quickly forgotten, so it's not like she was all that vital to the storyline.

We all like Fred and don't want him dead.

Is it better if it is a well-liked character so fans will tune in waiting for justice for their fallen favorite?
