Cheryl looked amazing. Is there anything in particular, you would like to discuss?

I think it's pretty apparent the Blossoms plan to disinherit Cheryl. The whole charade with Archie was done to provide a Jason stand-in to make her look more palatable to the shareholders. Right now her parents need her, but once the next generation of Blossom Twins are born, they can send Cheryl into exile and nobody will care but Cheryl.

Was Cheryl throwing herself at Archie because he looks like Jason, or was this a desperate act by a desperate girl hoping not to be cast off by her family?

It will be interesting how this ties in with Jason's murder. Jason was dealing drugs, something that would have besmirched the family name far more than anything Cheryl has done. I'm sad to say, Cheryl is looking more and more like the prime suspect again, especially since the episodes have yet to address the many elephants in the room concerning the Blossom Twins' closer-than-kin relationship.

You raise many interesting points. Cheryl is looking guilty, but how dark will Riverdale go? Incest? Or just excessive sibling rivalry? Is Polly in danger or even Archie? If Cheryl is guilty then is there a tie-in with Jughead's Dad who has Jason's jacket? I could see Cheryl seducing Jughead's dad and recruiting him to cover her tracks or lining him up as a scapegoat. What man could resist that cleavage? Cheryl seems capable of being a puppet master pulling all kinds of strings in Riverdale. Only one episode left. Based on the preview, I don't see them wrapping up the murder, but they might at least show the audience who dun it. Otherwise, the show would be very disappointing if Season 2 hadn't been approved. I always hope that failed shows have alternate endings to provide some conclusion for the few loyal fans they have. Jughead and Betty remain relationship gold, and now she wants to throw him a birthday party. Too cute for words.

I really don't think that Cheryl killed Jason. I think that she loved him and is grieving, that's all. Remember when she got friendly with Betty, leading to that great scene in Betty's bedroom where Betty told her to get out before she killed her? Cheryl was just tryin gto get info on the murder.

Someone on r/riverdale had a theory that the ending of this episode, with Cheryl scratching out faces with a marker, is really misdirection meant to make us think that she's going to be something bad to them, when really she's just eliminating them as suspects. Just like with Betty, she cozied up to Polly and Archie. Might be wrong, but I thought it was interesting.

As for who the killer is, I believe that it's going to be revealed this season. My money is on Jughead's dad, and was even before we found out he had the jacket (how did he have the jacket, though, since Archie gave it to Mrs. Blossom at the service?)

Archie didn't give the jacket to Mrs. Blossom, I believe that was Jason's football jersey that Archie gave to Mrs. Blossom.

The episode was also a lot about Veronica. The actress did a great job. I think everyone felt it was a big deal when she ripped off Daddy's pearls. She really has great compassion. Even in shady dealings, every investor should know that their money is at risk. There is no sure thing, and only a sucker falls for the lure of unrealistic gains. The finale looks like a lot more fun than this episode with a kick-ass party and lots of smiling characters. Wonder who will be smiling when Season 1 ends?

@Taylorfirst1 You're right, it was the jersey. Mea culpa.

@TrentTX There are 13 episodes this season, so there are actually 4 episodes left, which should be enough time to set everything up for seaon two (which, I believe, the writers have already started working on, according to a tweet from Madelaine Petsch).

Oh, that is an interesting theory! I hope your right. But the Blossom Twins relationship seems a little too weird to me. Cheryl and Jason got dressed up in matching red and white outfits (down to the shoes) to help Jason escape Riverdale to go sell pot and live with Polly Cooper and their baby? It's possible, I suppose. But the whole alibi was so Cheryl-centric, melodramatic, and gothic romancy, it makes me wonder if Jason was ever in that boat at all.

Maybe he really did love his sister that much, but then why leave her behind to be the scapegoat for their crazy narcissistic parents? Plus they drop little clues...like Cheryl's 4.0 gpa... (for when people are all "Cheryl Blossom, Criminal Mastermind, yeah right!"...?)

But yeah, I think Cheryl is probably not the killer, only because she's such a major star of the show. The killer is probably an adult or a pair of adults.

@ellie_b I hope it's right, too, because I don't want Cheryl to go all evil on us. I like her too much now!

Maybe she and Jason were dressed that way because they didn't want to arouse suspicion? Which would mean that they dressed alike a lot, I suppose, but that wouldn't surprise me.

If you're on reddit you shold check out the riverdale subreddit. That's where I post the most about the show. It's a nice community, not all that fighting about "ships" and other silliness that ruins so many places. People have their favorites, but mostly it's just about the show.
