Discuss SS-GB

Has anyone watched the first episode? I know it airs today, and am curious if anyone has seen it yet. I'm a sucker for British drama, but like to wait for a consensus before I dive in to a show. Thanks!

I found it interesting, it certainly has potential.

Thanks, hm... I may have to give it a try once I get through the other shows on my list. =) Thanks again!

The first episode is a little slow with all the set up.

I like the second episode much better; I am definitely hooked now. The death occurring this episode totally surprised me, and I think the explanation given is probably not true, let's see how it goes on. Also, the scientific secrets they are after and all the occultist aesthetics made it creepier. I also found the characters way more engaging.

The second episode tanked in the ratings though.

The British public do not like it.

To make a show dull in that scenario takes some doing!

They did it. Too much time has been pent in establishing the set up and mood and not enough action.

Frankly, it was difficult to follow, and this was 'concluded', if that is the right word, with an entire scene of verbal exposition in the last episode which STILL was as clear as mud. Not very well written I think, tho I haven't read the source material and cannot comment on the writing there.

I thought the cast made a good fist of a rather ridiculous story.
