That was Eddie trying to reach out and influence Lily with the TV show again, and because Mike was stuck there as well he was reaching out to turn the TV off. Before he freed Lily, he said something along the lines of "After this, he's going to try and keep talking to you, but you can't listen." Eddie needed the teeth to manifest in the real world, so he could be there briefly as the teeth monster. I think with Mike it was that he had an emotional and physical connection to his daughter.
