As mentioned by @Invidia, Season 4 is already in production, as mentioned by actor Blu del Barrio and tweeted by exec producer Michelle Paradise: https://twitter.com/michelleparadis/status/1323285494893928449
Guess the Youtube pundits have got it wrong again.

Valid criticism of a show with many issues isn't remotely like attacking it.
STD has had two whole seasons full of terrible writing and there's been no real change for the third. If you want to pretend everything is fine with STD, don't expect others to join in that fantasy

It's rare to see such positivity from one of the Anti-NewTrekkers.
Maybe you should spread some of your optimism on the boards for
and many more (those are just the Netflix ones that came to mind that only have one or two seasons and no Covid-related stated reasons for cancellation). I'm sure their fans would love to know that their shows haven't actually been given the chop.

Netflix canceled The Dark Crystal and the Away series and The 100 ended it's final season although there is still Space Force ,Stranger Things,Another Life,The Witcher, Cobra Kai and hopefully we will get a third season Mindhunter although chances are slim and there is always TOS,TAS,TNG,DS9,VOY and ENT to watchπ

Yeah seems like Viacom/CBS is not interested in appealing to the the largest audience anymore but rather let it's actions and decisions be guided by a very small but loud group on social media which is not interested in their product to begin with or is likely to spend money on it.But be assured Viacom/CBS isn't the only studio in that regard we see similar things at Disney,Warner and Amazon.
