Too many speeches?

Watching the last two episodes I kept thinking; there are simply too many long speeches at moments where they really don't fit in. Don't get me wrong, they're heartwrenching and all - but REALLY?

That what they call filler when the writers don't exactly know how to write themselves out of their own concocted mess.
