Discuss Star Trek: Discovery

When will the show be on DVD? Will it be on regular Netflix next summer/fall? After all the episodes are shown can you join CBS for 1 month and binge watch the the show?

So, how where does one watch the new Star Trek series without having to pay for the new subscription?

In the UK we get it on Netflix - still a subscription, but one many will have. Not sure if there would be a way to use a VPN to make you look like you are in Europe then log into nextflix UK site? I suspect it uses your personal info to determine what you get though :(

Other than that Torrents / Kodi. A bit "legal-adjacent" though.

I just cannot see paying for another tv viewing bill. Satellite & Netflix combined is same as a car payment. Add on internet and we are broke!

I would dump Satellite if I were you. It is now possible to get pretty much every channel a la carte via the interwebs.

Nobody says you have to get 500 TV channels and multi-gigabit internet. As far as I can see, all the satellite TV providers - at least in the US - have options starting at $30 or even $20.

Which do not include much. And I have normal speed internet.

So do I. But how much are you expecting to get, for how little? I get 94 channels off-air, for free. My internet service is $60/month (for satellite - cable would be cheaper but I hate the cable people here.) I could get some extra TV from Dish for $20-30/month. That totals up to less than my monthly payments on a 1977 Honda Civic back in 1979 or so.

Off-air here is only a few channels, QVC type. And Spanish channels. I dislike optimum cable tv. But they're the only decent internet.

How about Roku?

There is a bunch of apps and services you can add through Roku. I am looking at one now that has about a 30 channel line up for $30 a month. Plus you can always get all of the movie channels individually on Roku as well.
