Where do the X-Men fit into this?

Throughout this series, I have not heard anything about Professor X or the X-Men, I would think that a shadowy group running around trying to detain Mutants would draw their attention as well as the group that David is in as well. I am trying to figure out what their place is within this series, mainly because it seems to be very insignificant.

I don't think Legion will ever be part of X-Men Universe unless they reboot it again.

In the comics he is Charles Xavier's son so it's interesting to see how they'll play it out.
