Are the ratings good enough to keep this show alive for a season 2?

It's been doing okay so far.

Well here's the ratings:

Not looking good, hope it picks up. disappointed

Not gonna make it. Develops too slowly making it confusing. Doubt I will watch it again.

It's not doing high ratings, but it's got critical acclaim, so maybe FX will renew it. It's not Fox.

@TalisBriedis Confusing how?

This show is so not suited for a channel like FX, Legion would be much more fitted for a platform such as NetFlix or Amazon, or if it's to air week to week, a premium network like Showtime would also suit it much better. The show is incredible , but since it doesn't start and wrap up inside of 42 minutes the general pop gets bored, it happens a lot during the first few eps of a continuing storyline. Once a bunch of eps have dropped and word gets around and people can binge into it I believe it will grow immensely in popularity. I think it will easily see a second season, it might not be on Fx though, which would be a plus.

@TalisBriedis Developing slowly makes it confusing? That's a bit of an ironic statement. I think maybe since it does develop slowly it takes too much patience for some, but for all the best shows that is almost always the case. When you get too much thrown at you in the first few episodes it compromises character development. I've watched/invested 8 episodes into something that I didn't consider great until the amazing payoff of the final two episodes go and totally blow the roof off and you find yourself incredibly emotionally charged with your hair standing up, that's what it's all about for me, though a very rare and uncommon occurrence .

I think it would be on FX, since Fox owns the rights to the X-Men. I don't think it needs to be binged, because, with the internet, people can post and discuss their theories from week to week and keep the show alive. Word of mouth will help the show.

Agree, completely. Though I thought also about not being suited for FX and it would be better on a streaming platform but the idea of binge kinda ruins the sweet agony to wait for the next week ha! I really hope the waitings pick up or at least if the are gonna cancel it, let the writer finish the storyline and have a decent ending. I hate it how north americas ruin good shows for foreign audience; we are summited to their sublime or decrepit taste . I hope this show makes it.

I'm curios about what stubborned mind waits to be delighted by the end after 8 episodes, what show was it. I has happened with films to me i.e. Holy Mountain.

Lol, you know what that's a good question. I'm gonna say that was more of a general statement than a specific one and it would be in reference to a show in which I found entertaining with mostly 7 and 8/10's until boom 9 and 10's, my memory is horrible because I watch insane amounts of media. I'll give you what I would call the greatest example of a show that I really didn't like at first and then it got watchable and it hooked me which led to completely amazing emotional payoff in the second season, The Leftovers. These were my episode ratings for the first season, ten episodes in order: *S1: 5,6,8,7,7,8,7,7,8,9/10 * season two, ten episodes in order: *S2 9,9,9,9,9,910,10,9,10/10 * Season two of that show was one the best season's of TV I've ever watched in my life, go figure, crazy right? My opinion and all of the other ratings for the shows episodes are very close to mine too.

And of course there was True Detective S1, I tried to start watching that show a few different times all of which failed. Finally I put it on and the first three episodes were slow to watch, but the fourth episode just amazed the heck out of me, the payoff from those grudgingly slow at times first three eps that were all spent on character building and storyline set-up was priceless , had my heart pounding-very rare.

Same with GoT, I had a hard time starting and staying tuned in for the first few episodes, I pushed through only because of the acclaim and eventually greatness emerged from my pov.

So it's safe to say that my opinion on series' is that you can't really go and write off a show after only 3 episodes unless it really offends or irritates you, Lucifer did that to me, I just absolutely despised the guy playing Lucifer and the storyline didn't catch on to me either, but that's certainly not abnormal for case of the week crap.

For a first season show on FX the ratings have been fine. Plus, I believe delayed viewership has also been good, which is something FX cares about. I would be pretty surprised and very disappointed if it didn't get a 2nd season.

yes its slow, yes its confusing and NO its not good. show has to hook you first to then develop characters or develop plot. how can it hook you when you dont know what the hell is going on there

Agreed. The show is too confusing and even if you understood it, the underlying subject matter just isn't interesting. Legion is a dumb character. An insane person with multiple personalities that control different powers and who has the ability to time travel and literally create an endless stream of different time lines.

I am hoping that all will be cleared up by the end of the season. Because you can't keep your viewers confused forever and expect them to stick around.

After episode 4 they have lost me a bit, it was just too much randomness(in and out of David's "astral plain" and such) and mostly just unenjoyable. Who ever above me I previously criticized for it not being confusing, forgive me I take it all back. I'm getting confused and it seems that was their intention, it felt like ep4 was an insult, but that's just me. Hopefully they will redeem themselves with ep5 or this show becomes a, "let the season finish and then watch the rest at my convenience". I won't quit entirely, there is way too much interesting and cool stuff in it and it's such a short season after all, plus I'm in deep enough to require to see where all this ends. Nonetheless they need to lay some kind of solid foundation to this in reality, there is too much time dedicated to David's fracking fragmented memories, and do it now or this astral space created inside of memories shite will just not do!

Personally I'm not confused at all, I guess some people just can't process that much intricate information. The only thing I'm not sure is whether Yellow Eyes is just David's darkest corner of his mind or an external force masquerading as such.
