I hear a lot of criticisms of Jonathan that he is some sort of perverted stalker. Which is totally understandable, due to his distasteful and shady photographs that he took of Nancy without her consent in Season 1. However, Jonathan taking photographs of Nancy in her bra while at that party seemed to be a totally isolated incident in that show. There was no indication that he did that before accidentally stumbling across Nancy's party. He didn't even set out to stalk Nancy, as he was out searching for Will. The taking of those photographs just seemed to be an entirely opportunistic decision made at the spot. It did not seem like to me that Jonathan had any further intentions to purse or stalk Nancy after those he took those photos. Plus, I thing I noticed in the show, that it was almost always Nancy that instigated the interactions between her and Jonathan. It did not seem like Jonathan even went out of his way to interact with Nancy.

On another note, how likely will Jonathan be written out of season 3, due to his actor's recent legal troubles?

"Trace amounts" could mean that someone else's drugs could have contacted his bag... From what I read they had nothing to recover, just that the dog sniffed something out? Maybe I read the wrong article.

I agree that Jonathan made an impulse decision to take those pictures. He seemed like such a painfully shy guy that he almost lived vicariously through other people by photographing them going about their daily lives.

As far as Heaton's troubles at LAX, it appears the dogs sniffed out a trace of cocaine but all they had was residue, tiny trace quantities, on his personal items. Which basically means he had no drugs on his person but either used cocaine himself recently or was hanging out with people who did. Without a macro quantity (baggies or something like that) there could be no arrest. They simply denied him entry. Netflix or the Duffer brothers won't kick him off the show just for this incident, although they may have a little chat with him about keeping his nose clean. No pun intended.

I definitely found Jonathan creepy is season 1, but I like his scenes with his family. In season 2, he had nothing to do and his only plot seemed to be fulfilling fan service (it also helps that he's dating the actress irl).

The stuff at LAX will blow over and he'll be in season 3.
