Apspriediet The Good Place

Upcoming season four will be the last. I think they realized that, creatively, there really wasn't much gas left in the tank. At times I found the most recent season to be tedious and repetitive. It started to feel like they were struggling to fill a half hour each week, although it did seem to pick up and get a bit more interesting near the season's end.

Here's the official word.

Agree - while I still enjoy this show and look forward to the next season, it seems unlikely now to recapture the magic and creativity of its first season and it does feel like the writers are treading water and relying on the wonderful cast to keep things going.

So of course, now is the time that the Emmys have taken note of the show at last. In typical fashion, they wait until it is on its creative downslide to nominate it for best series and writing.

Further to my comments from last year, season four has been DREADFUL - an absolute trainwreck. I have continued watching to see where they took it but have repeatedly cringed at how desperate the whole thing has become. And I doubt there is anyone on TV more insufferable than Maya Rudolph as the Judge.

What about Fred Armisen? He is the worst.

I'm not familiar with him.

Isn't that rather OT? He's not even in this. But as long as you mentioned him, if he's so bad, then why has he been nominated for a huge number of awards; and why does he seem to be the busiest guy in the entertainment industry. Maybe you're just jealous?

He was on Saturday Night Live. I thought of him because Maya Rudolph was as well. But I think he's way more insufferable than she is.

Ah, I see... I have only ever seen a couple of episodes of SNL. It's shown at anti-social hours/on small channels in my part of the world. He must be severely irritating, then!

No, he's immensely talented. He just plays a lot of irritating characters really well. Apparently @acontributor gets confused between actors and the characters they play.

As I said, he's got a ton of awards and is probably busier than anyone else around. If you don't believe me, check out his credits for acting, writing, musical composing, directing and producing.

Maya Rudolph is also immensely talented. She has a huge number of nominations and more than a few wins.

Apparently both actors are so talented that their performances convince @acontributor that they are really like the characters they play.
