I like the show. It is hard to understand, how Cathy stands all of these people around her, without losing her patience. Watching it is mostly very enjoyable, though sometimes the actions of the supportive cast make me cringe too much.
Lesley Manville (Cathy) and Peter Mullan's (Michael) not only give a wonderful performance but also have a very sweet chemistry, I really root for them. Moments, that they share on the screen are the best on this show. It feels like Cathy is the audience character - a character through whom the viewers learn things about the reality of the show. So Michael is especially important, not only as a love interest but mostly as someone, who also sees this madness of other characters.
This season felt like Kelly, a character Lisa McGrillis portrays, had a bit repetitive jokes, sometimes dragging a bit too long. In my opinion, the first season was better, but this is still a very good television show.
