I watched this show in one sitting yesterday, 6.5 hours straight... and obviously I would not have done that had I not liked it. I liked it a lot... except for one major flaw... the lead actress. I get that Sophia is not suppose to be a likable character. She is a "Nasty Gal" after all. However, she should have some redeeming spark that draws you in ... and I just didn't get that from Britt Robertson. When she was manic, she was too manic, over the top and just annoying and when she is suppose to evoke sympathy, it felt forced. That said, there is so much good about the show, I could look past this and really enjoy it.

There are moments of true brilliance, the "forum" episode when they are sitting around the virtual round table was so on point and well nuanced I may go back and watch it again. The actress who plays the best friend is fantastic and the premiss is great, who doesn't love a rags to rich rags story? I'm sure there will be a 2nd season and I'm sure I will buzz through it as well. May need to read the book now.
