因为一个陌生人钱包里的信，在东京某搬家公司打工的乡下青年曾田练（高良健吾 饰）不远万里驱车来到北海道，并将人生黯淡的女孩林田音（有村架纯 饰）带回了东京。熙攘的人群中，只一刹那两人便错失彼此。练的身边有个名叫木穗子（高畑充希 饰）的时尚女孩，她谈着一场注定没有结果的所谓爱情。练的青梅竹马小夏（森川葵 饰）渴望在东京实现梦想，而中条晴太（坂口健太郎 饰）似乎让她渐渐意识到大都会的冰冷与残酷。自力更生的音在某养老院打拼，富二代公子哥井吹朝阳（西岛隆弘 饰）对这个执拗的女孩产生了别样的兴趣。 　　三男三女，六个有着共通之处的年轻人，寻找他们的梦想、依靠以及多年后回忆起来一定会让他们潸然泪下的恋情……

《那一年我們談的那場戀愛[1]》（日語：いつかこの恋を思い出してきっと泣いてしまう，英語：Love That Makes You Cry[2]），直譯《想起這段戀愛時定會哭泣》，為2016年1月18日起每週一晚間9:00－9:54於日本富士電視台播出的「月9」連續劇[3][4]。此劇劇本由《東京愛情故事》、《2個媽媽》、《儘管如此也要活下去》等獲得多項編劇獎並獲得好評的坂元裕二執筆，高良健吾、有村架純主演，這也是有村首部於民營電視台連續劇擔任主演的戲劇作品。

Follows the story of love, friendship and growth of six young men and women who move from countryside to the big city of Tokyo, each with their own dreams and aspirations. Among them is Sugihara Oto and Soda Ren. After her mother died, Oto was raised by adoptive parents in Hokkaido. Although she has given up on having any high hopes or big dreams for her future, she still remains positive and faces life with optimistic attitude. One day, she finds out the fact that her adoptive parents are planning to marry her to the wealthy man in town in order to solve their financial debt. Soda Ren was raised by his grandfather in Fukushima. Ren works hard on one job after another in order to earn the money to buy back his grandfather's land so that they can start farming again. By chance, Oto and Ren meet in Hokkaido and they decide to move to Tokyo to find new life to change their fate and future. However, as soon as they arrive Tokyo, they get separated in the crowds...

אמה של סוגיהרה אוטו נפטרה כשהייתה צעירה, היא גדלה אצל הורים מאמצים באזורים הכפריים של הוקקאידו. למרות שוויתרה על חלומותיה , היא חיה בשמחה. אבל היא מוטרדת על ידי הוריה המאמצים שמנסים לאלץ אותה להינשא לגבר שמבוגר ממנה ב20 שנה על מנת להציל את עצמם מעוני. סודה רן איבד את הוריו גם כן וגדל בחיק הטבע בפוקושימה על ידי סבו. עם זאת, סבו מבקש ממנו לצאת לטוקיו על מנת להרוויח כסף כדי שיוכלו לעבד את האדמות שלהם. החלום שלו הוא לחזור ולחיות עם סבו ביום מן הימים., אבל המציאות קשה. בצירוף מקרים, אוטו גם היא מגיעה לטוקיו.

幼い頃に母を亡くした音（有村架純）は、北海道で養父母と暮らしていた。一方、福島から上京した練（高良健吾）は、東京の運送会社で引っ越しの仕事に就いていた。練には、木穂子（高畑充希）という恋人がいた。ある日、練は、友人の晴太（坂口健太郎）が、旅先の北海道で拾ったというカバンの中から「音へ」と書かれた古い手紙を見つける。練は、手紙を持ち主に届けるため、トラックで北海道へ向かう。

A jovem Sugihara Oto mora com os pais adotivos em Hokkaido depois da morte da mãe. Embora tenha desistido de sonhar, ela vive com alegria e coragem. Mas seus pais adotivos tentam forçá-la a se casar com um homem rico e bem mais velho para salvar a família da pobreza. Soda Ren perdeu os pais cedo e foi criado por seu avô em Fukushima. No entanto, seu avô é enganado e Ren decide ir para Tokyo para ganhar dinheiro e recuperar a terra dele. Por coincidência, Oto também vai para Tokyo. Trata-se de uma história de amor e crescimento de seis jovens provenientes de zonas rurais que se reúnem em Tokyo.
