Today at exactly this time 50 years ago Neil Armstrong became the first human being to set foot on another celestial body other than Earth.To celebrate this historic moment and the late Neil Armstrong this post.And to the remaining crew members of Apollo 11 Buzz Aldrin and Michael Colins and all those people behind the scenes of the Apollo program happy 50th anniversary .

- What did you think what went wrong with NASA after the Moon landings?

NASA became too bureaucratic and complacent. The "space race" was over, they had won and so the gov't couldn't seem to justify the budget for such a program especially when the TV ratings for each mission got smaller and smaller.
NASA gets the same budget now, where it makes exactly zero launches using zero vehicles, that it did when it had a program supporting 4 shuttles making numerous launches per year. Try to make sense of that.
It'll be SpaceX/Musk landing people on Mars. Guaranteed.
