Best holodeck stories the ones with Dr. Moriarty who is also the most interesting character

worst; A Fistful Of Data's too many Data's is never good plus not a fan of Westerns

Never was a fan of holodeck or time travel episodes since they are usually used as a means to tell stories taking place in the past ,while it should be looking into stories of the future since it is a SF show.

Roman orgy wink

Have to agree with Nexus71 about Moriarty as the best character and story line for the holodeck. Although Riker, Troi and LaForge intruding on Barclay's recreation of them was pretty good for a laugh. For worst I'd have to go with The Big Goodbye - that episode was pretty lame and one among many of "broken down holodeck puts crew in danger" episodes.

Holodecks are pretty cool - pretty much what video game companies are working towards I think (either that or what we see in Brainstorm from 1983). When they're not malfunctioning, they can also serve pretty well in situations like those in Schisms or A Matter Of Perspective as well as being for entertainment.

Not sure what kind of program I'd run. At first I thought something like an Elder Scrolls game (Skyrim or Oblivion) but then I thought "Wait a second - that would involve a LOT of strenuous physical activity" and me being in the shape I'm in i.e. not, that would be very unenjoyable. Then I thought "Wait another second - I could make all the objects weigh nothing and reduce gravity. Strenuous shmenuous. Now as long as there's no safety routine malfunction, I should be just fine."

I think it's about time we found out whether Professor Starnes' enemy within... is on the planet below, or here on board ship with us.

What I still don't get it is why Picard,Data,Crusher and the wounded historian would get harmed if they had just forced the doors of the holodeck to open to reach them or simply just shut down the program humans aren't integrated in the program are they so how would shutting down the program or rebooting it could cause harm ?
