I hope it is. Don't really want to see a series featuring a different tng special guest star each week.
Will also be interesting to see how the tech in this series is stylised given that this will be produced by the same show-runners as Discovery so presumably a big upgrade from the Carpets Jean-Luc's previous outing was synonymous with.
I would be interested in seeing Picard in a new Trek show but I do hope (not to alienate TNG fans) that it won't be too different that people won't feel any connection with it.
No because they can delve comedy from Picard asking Worf what has happened and Worf replying no comment since the Klingons have gone through three changes It's a pity Enterprise is not around anymore to give a satisfactory explanation how that happened .
Excited to see it, but the universe of Star Trek is a very different place from the time Picard made his last appearance. Coming back to recapture that old magic might prove too evasive for even someone who can travel at warp speeds. I just hope they don't screw it up. I hope they sign up some of the other cast. If they bring back Frakes, he will have appeared in more incarnations of Trek than any other actor.

It's not just the... feel?... that is different. Stewart is also pretty old now, almost 80. Even for 23rd or 24th century, it would be pushing things a lot for him to still be a "captain." Maybe not even something like Admiral Emeritus or something. He's 20 years older than DeForest Kelley was for his cameo in TNG, although McCoy was supposed to be 137 then. But McCoy was an Admiral Emeritus then, and Picard should be at least some kind of fleet admiral in a new show, not still "out there hopping galaxies."
I think the show is going to be called Star Trek The Geriatric Generation ,where we see elderly Starfleet personnel battle arthritis and dementia and ride around on the bridge in scooters, walkers and rollators.
@wonder2wonder : I of course had heard that Sir Patrick is returning to TV, but what's this about the possibility of an additional 3 more Star Trek series?
That's a lot of Trek. OT news: the producers of Star Trek Discovery have announced the actor they've hired to play Spock for season 2. His name is Ethan Peck, the grandson of Hollywood acting legend Gregory Peck.

If Worf makes an appearance, will they change him to look like the Klingons in Star Trek: Discovery?
