I really like the episode The Pegasus. There's a lot of intrigue about the inner workings of Star Fleet Intelligence that we get a glimpse of - Star Fleet isn't as goody goody as we thought. The revelation of Section 31 later in DS9 just deepens the intrigue even more (at least it did for me). I always wondered what happened to Pressmen and the cloaking device afterwards. I always thought it would be interesting if both were picked up by Section 31 and put into useful service.

I also enjoy the episode Relics . The scene with Scotty and Picard on the bridge of the holodeck version of the original Enterprise is one of the best in Star Trek.

It's very hard to pin down just one. The finale was excellent so I'd go with that one I guess. But The Measure of a Man was right up there as well for me. (Maria, I think one of your fav episodes was called Lower Decks, not Below Decks.)

The encounter with the Romulans, the tension and score is great in that episode.

Picard : "Power to do what ?"

Rich dead guy : "To control your life, your destiny"

Picard : "That kind of control is an illusion"

Rich dead guy : "Really ? I'm here, aren't I ? I should be dead, but I'm not."

Also towards the end :

Picard to Romulans : "Who is responsible?"

(Romulans look at each other)

Rich dead guy : "They haven't got a clue. They're hoping "you" know. But they're too arrogant to ask."

Riker : "You're out of line, mister."

Picard : "But it's a correct assessment."

• Conundrum

Every crew member had something to do, something meaningful to say. Even Worf :

(To Picard) "Looks like you're the leader."

(Picard counts his pips.)

Worf points to his baldric : "Perhaps we should not jump to conclusions.. "I" am decorated as well."
