Es ist Schulzeit im Ahhh!-Tal und Eep hat schlechte Laune, denn sie muss ausgerechnet mit der nervigen neuen Schülerin Lorki ein Jagd-Team bilden. Überraschenderweise schlagen sich die beiden jedoch sehr gut und so verpasst ihnen ihr gemeiner Lehrer Herr Miesler gleich die nächste, weitaus schwierigere Aufgabe: sie sollen einen Albatroceros, einen gefährlichen Greifvogel, fangen. Mit Glück und Geschick gelingt auch dies, und Eep muss feststellen, dass die verrückte Lorki vielleicht doch gar keine schlechte „beste Freundin“ ist.

Am heißesten Tag des Jahres erfrischen sich alle am Wasserloch, nur Mama Ugga weigert sich strikt, den anderen ins kühle Nass zu folgen. Sie hat Angst vor Wasser und holt sich lieber einen dicken Sonnenbrand. In der Zwischenzeit wetteifern Thunk und Eep darum, wer von den beiden wohl die oder der Coolere sei. Dazu fordern sie sich gegenseitig zu Mutproben auf. Als Thunk seine Angst vor tiefem Wasser überwinden muss, taucht plötzlich ein riesiges Monster im Wasser auf. Nun wird Ugga ihre Angst vor Wasser wohl doch besiegen müssen …
