With that being said, what have you guys thought about this season? I really like this show but, honestly, this season has felt a bit lacking. It doesn't have the same feel as the first season. I still can't get over the rushed and randomness of Asa's death because it absolutely made no sense in the grand scheme of the show. Obviously from the start, he was built up to be the "savior" in fulfilling the prophecy Lady Rae spoke of and they just kill him off. I really do wonder if something happened with Joe for them to hastily and lazily do away with his character after basically building the show around him. I can't really find anything about that just explanations of the character dying. Everything has felt random, as with the introduction of that tribe of women. Exactly what purpose did they serve, I'm honestly asking in case I missed something in an episode or something. They just showed up, tried taking over to "cleanse" the mountain of whatever, killed some people and then scatter when G'winn killed the leader...that's it, never heard from again.

Sally-Anne is really getting on my nerves this season, also. She seems more irritating and not very understanding of the predicament Hasil has been forced into by the Ferrells, especially Big Foster. He's trying to make both sides happy and I didn't feel it fair to him in basically making him choose between Sally-Anne and their child and helping defend his family. I feel that she's trying to change him more than help him, although I kinda did see the point of changing his clothes in maybe protecting him for being a target in the town by openly dressing differently and giving away that he was a Ferrell. It's obvious they love each other.

I'm curious if I'm alone in this and what you guys think.

I totally agree about Sally-Ann. Hasil has been bending over backwards to make her happy and provide for her and the baby and yet she still isn't happy. It's awfully romantic how he tells her he'll always come back to her and she just doesn't appreciate that. I did get a laugh out of Hasil dressing in street clothes ~ he definitely looks younger that way. This season has just been drifting from story to story with no clear resolution. I am happy about Ledda even though I really don't like her! That was big Foster's son that visited her wasn't it? Elon. The Kinnah drama was just a waste of time. The big show down on top of the mountain was kind of a let down also. Although this new situation with Big Foster dragging Haley up the mountain looks promising and it was super funny .... "You pathetic, deranged hippie!!"

LOL! I LOVED when Haley said that, and I don't even like her. I'm not entirely convinced that by bringing her up there will magically change her mind, despite her having a child she chose her career over. However, she was sympathetic towards Wade and Ledda in changing the paperwork to get her health insurance. Maybe I'll be surprised, who knows! I do think that was Big Foster's dead son, I forgot his name, that came to see her. I think he appeared in another episode this season but I can't remember to who. You hit it exactly on the head, books, with these aimless (sub)plots without any resolution. I guess Gillian Alexy is pregnant in real life so they have to write THAT in and it's obvious it's Asa's. They're probably using that as a way of "reviving" the prophecy story line without Asa, if it is his kid.

I can't say I necessarily "dislike" Sally-Ann, I guess I never really cared for her? Her brother was overly-protective, controlling, and abusive. She seems incapable of taking Hasil's perspective and is quite selfish, to be honest. It's all about making her happy and I don't think Hasil knows any better because he's unfamiliar with that. It seems one-sided because he is bending over all kind of ways to make her happy, but when it comes to him she gets an attitude and defensive. I keep thinking, if it weren't for the kid and Hasil being the man he is, he doesn't deserve any of that crap! Like that guy's girlfriend, the transgendered girl who I just LOOOOVE, told her that she needed to appreciate and love Hasil for who he is because real love is hard to find.

Well .... do you think Sally Ann is finally starting to bend a little :) She finally made Hasil a happy guy. Wow that look he gave her after she said those words ~ is everything. I also like Iris she is a good friend to Sally Ann, not too sure about Butch though. I hope he isn't just using Hasil for fight club. I thought for sure they'd keep Haley up on the mountain a little longer but I guess she saw everything she needed to see. Tripping on berries and Ferrell wine!
