Why did he want the sole in the first place? Didn't he realize that he would be weakened by the likes of Jessie, who has the power of Genesis. I highly doubt we have seen the last of him, I think he will either be freed or he will find some way out. BTW does Arse face, Eugene, escape from hell?

He wanted the soul so that he could go to Heaven and be reunited with his wife and daughter. Jesse betraying him is awful, Jesse in the comics is a man of honor. He never tells a lie and never betrays anybody. The writers of the tv-show has really done wrong with Jesse.
And Eugene never went to Hell in the comics so who knows what will happen. But he will probably return someway.

I have not read the comic, is the series way different from the source material? I am going by what I see week after week.

Well, the characters have the same names, Jesse can command people with Genesis and Cass is a vampire. That is the only similarities with the comic and the tv-show. The personalities, histories and the plot is way off.
Except Herr Starr. He seems rather comic accurate so far.
