It showed how they were shaped by the criminal lifestyle they were living at the time and the aftermath of Tulip's miscarriage. I liked how the roles were reversed with Jessie wanting to leave that lifestyle after the aftermath of the miscarriage as opposed to Tulip, who wanted to stay, mostly for revenge on Carlos. I am speculating here, however I believe she wanted to stay to get revenge on Carlos, who Tulip more so blamed for the miscarriage as well as the botched robbery. If Jessie continued to work with Dani, she probably would have stayed with him. Despite Viktor calling Jessie an a**hole, Tulip left Viktor because she using him for his resources in addition to remaining in the lifestyle until she located Carlos and still ended up with Jesse.
