I would say so.

Nah, it has almost nothing in common with the comics except having the same characters. It had its' moments, but overall season 1 was a mess.

Hopefully season 2 improves and stays more in line with the comics.

Well, the question wasn't really if it's a good adaptation or not, but whether it's the best show on AMC based on a comic. Which I think it is (as an obvious jab to TWD, which I find to be a subpar show now).

I have read the comics and I was first appalled it was going to be shown on AMC who wont even allow the characters to swear(how the hell do you do Cassidy justice). But I gotta say i've been surprised so far. It's not a faithful adaptation like say Game of Thrones, but I think they have done very well with the material. Much of the source material wouldn't have worked on tv, but now it does.

I did not know the show was based on a comic. I recently binge watched the whole first season and thought it was great, looking forward to season 2 in June.

Ruth Negga is one of the most stunning women on television. However, the show isn't really interesting enough for me to watch regularly... two scripted shows (both of them on AMC, BTW) are enough for me.
