Season 2

I'm really liking season 2. I wasn't sure about this show after season 1, but I like what they're doing. Season 1 had to retell a plot that not only was adapted from books but was covered in a movie. So for me, it felt like the show had to take a while to find it's voice.
I like that they're deviating from the books a bit, it keeps things interesting.
Are there any plots you guys hope they keep from the books?

I just started season 2 but am really enjoying it. It seems to have better production values and writing is improved.

Yeah, I think once they decided to completely remove Cassandra Clare from the creative, the show improved

Wow. I didn't realize they removed her from the creative. I'm not sure how involved she was with the first season but the change certainly shows.

I agree I just saw episode 5 and I'm actually beginning to like this show. I've read the Mortal Instruments series, and am almost finished with Clockwork Princess, last book of Infernal Devices!
But Aldertree giving Yin Fen to Isabelle for treatment?! Have you guys read the Infernal Devices? I hope it won't be like the drug in those books..
