I am watching this series again. In season 1 episode six "There Must be Rules" the cop named Vic talks to Charlie who is guarding him. Vic tells Charlie that he didn't murder Maria, because you cannot kill someone who has already died (conveniently overlooking the fact that she had risen from the dead, was breathing, talking, living, etc.). Then Vic takes Charlie on a maudlin emotional walk down his military memory lane, saying 'you remember pals of yours who died in the war, who didn't come back like you did'. And Charlie says yes, he does. Vic says 'Can't you see that your being back here now makes a mockery of what they did. I don't know how you can live with yourself'.

Charlie is a sensitive gay man in this show, and he listens to that crap. He stands there listening to Vic, and has a far away look in his eyes as though he is feeling guilty for being alive. Now, many soldiers who come back from war have what is called "survivor's guilt" and are plagued by questions of why their buddies caught bullets and they didn't. But Vic wasn't talking about that. He was telling Charlie he should feel guilty for rising from the dead, and he should want to die. Vic asked Charlie 'how can you live with yourself?'.

Charlie should have walked over to Vic and socked him hard in the jaw when he said that to him. And then he should have said "I don't know how you can live with yourself after you snapped Maria's neck, you piece of shit. So shut your mouth. The next time you speak I am giving you what you gave Maria".

Seriously, someone should have beaten the crap out of Vic when he was lying there with his leg broken. Vic tried to appeal to them after he was disabled with that broken leg. Prior to that he had been on a tear to kill them all. But once his leg was broken he pretended to be their friend.

And James is the biggest pussy of a cop I have ever seen. It took him forever to shoot Vic. He just stood there, slowly inching toward them as Vic and John drug his wife and that other girl toward the death boundary. I would have run straight up to John and put the gun to his head and told him let her go now or I splatter your brains. Then I would have done the same to Vic.

And prior to that, Vic forced Dr. Aleisha McKellar to call James to get him to bring all the remaining risen to their location. The doc was able to alert James that something was wrong, so he showed up there alone. Then he found out Vic wanted to kill all the risen people. Just then Paddy showed up and James told him to run.

Vic punched James and ran after Paddy, shooting at him on the run. James quickly recovered and began to pursue Vic, shouting at him. Luckily Vic stepped in a hole and broke his leg, a compound fracture of the tibia and fibula. But prior to that, James should have drawn his service pistol and shot Vic. Vic was actively attempting to murder a man, and James failed to use force to stop him.

You probably cannot tell, but I like this show. LOL, I guess I just like to complain about characters I think act stupidly. But the show is good, and I can't wait for season three.
