As tensions reach a fever pitch inside the cordon, mobs of angry protestors take to the streets in an attempt to break free. Meanwhile, stuck in isolation and cut off from their chain of command, Lex and Dr. Lommers have no choice but to stand by helplessly as the cordon erupts into mass chaos. At the hospital, Jake attempts to lighten the mood by taking Katie on a date, but their happiness is short-lived after they discover that several of Katie’s students have gone missing. Meanwhile, with Lex nowhere to be found, Leo moves forward with their investigation, inching one step closer to uncovering the person responsible for the outbreak.

Lex et Sabine Lommers sont enfermés pour 48 heures dans un container. Sabine fait des révélations à Lex, qui ne sait pas quoi en penser. Pendant ce temps, le capitaine Scott prend les décisions tout seul, contre leur avis, et envoie des hommes dans la Zone pour mater une rébellion. En effet, les prisonniers de la zone de quarantaine ont décidé de manifester pour qu'on leur ouvre et même de forcer le passage en s'attaquant au mur de containers. Cette opération engendre un mouvement de panique et une zone de forte contamination, dont même les soldats de la Garde nationale ne sortent pas indemnes...

In der Quarantäne-Zone rebellieren die Menschen. Es kommt zu einem Aufstand und die Gefangenen drohen auszubrechen. Zwar kann die Revolte von der Nationalgarde eingedämmt werden, aber die Garde muss aufgrund des Einsatzes schwere Verluste hinnehmen. Derweil bekommt Leo durch seine Informantin Nancy interessante Hinweise über einen möglichen Indexpatienten.
