I can't be the only one having a hard time buying Costabile playing a badass character. It's laughable and unbelievable. It's like having Barney Fife playing James Bond or something.

I don't really know him much from other projects. So yeah, it could be possible that it's just you. 🤔
I've been watching since the show aired and I find him to be believable in that character.
I love Damian Lewis as Axe. So happy he's still with Showtime. I hated seeing him die on Homeland.

That last comment is me anticipating your question and reaction to me never watching the show. I'll have to check out Costabile in other projects to judge. So no worries. The jury may still be out on your OP.
Yeah, Damian has been around for a while. He does a great American accent. I didn't even know that he wasn't American until after I started watching Homeland.

Seems believable to me. I'm another who didn't watch breaking bad. It happens. Only so many hrs in a week to watch TV shows.
