I think James and Lena make a fantastic, onscreen couple. I read a lot of vitriol over their relationship, and for some reason, a lot of people used the argument that the relationship was forced because they hated each other at first. The same people rejoiced over Kara and Mon-El's relationship, even though she hated him at first. Two people falling in love after hating each other is normal, but for some reason, it's a big deal when it's James Olsen. Can somebody explain to me why James and Lena are such a big deal?

I don't think they look bad, but something about them doesn't quite seem like a couple, and I'm not remotely saying that because of any black-white anything. There simply seems to be a lack of chemistry. It's not that they clash so much as I don't sense or see any palpable natural connection between them. It merely seems like the show introducing another couple so they have that much more content to work with going forward.

They have to approach the James and Lena scenario cautiously due to the hatred, but if they just let them be a couple without all the restraints, it would work. Two grown people should be able to bump nasties without all the silliness. For example. why should Lena care what Kara thinks about her relationship with James? It doesn't make any sense.

Probably just trying to create unnecessary drama.
