I really enjoyed this. It reminded me of Smallville which was great. I wish they had made that the main premise of the series personally. It was also uncanny how much the actress who played young Kara looked like Melissa Benoist.

To me, this was the best episode of the season and one of the best of the series. I have always felt the true strength of this series was the relationship between Kara and Alex, and this gives us a glimpse of its foundation. It's funny that you say how much Izabela Vidovic looked like Melissa Benoist, which she does, but I think the likeness between Olivia Nikkanen and Chyler Leigh is even more uncanny. Each of them had their older counterpart's mannerisms down very well. You could truly believe these were them at a younger age.
Here's hoping we see more of these young actresses in the series. Heck, how about a spinoff called Midvale?

Nice to know Hank was keeping his promise to Jeremiah to look after his girls even back then.

Great episode. There was a lot to like about it, but there were some nice touches that made it stand out. Having J'Onn make an appearance was one. The bit of Kryptonian language was nice.
As mentioned, the casting of the 2 girls were bang on. Great job finding them. And it's always a treat to see Helen Slater again...had such a crush on her when I was a young kid.

Does anybody find it funny that Eliza looks more like Kara her adopted child then she does Alex her biological child?

I also liked the references to previous Superman TV series, like Kara mentioning Clark's friend Chloe and her "Wall of Weird" and Erica Durance playing FBI agent Noel Neill.

Speaking of Erica Durance, to me she's not looking all that great. I loved her in Smallville, but I haven't seen her since the last episode. Not only is she aging--which of course, people do--but it looks like she's had some work done. Those lips don't look natural to me. I know this is shallow, but I was disappointed in the way she looks.
Plus, in six years she goes from play Clark's fiancée to playing his aunt!

I thought she looked great. She was 26 when she started playing Lois on Smallville 13 years ago. She's now 39. She still looks good. I saw her in the first season of her recent Canadian show Saving Hope because ABC aired the first season. I haven't seen the other 5 seasons that ABC didn't air, though. Now that the show has gone off the air I'll wait for a DVD box set of the entire series.

To be fair, she hasn't aged since he was a baby. Lol.
