Discuss Supergirl

Yeah that was real subtle when Cat Grant starts talking about how they will tell you they want to make the world great again with clenched fists and not to believe them and everybody needs to resist them with everything they got and fight fight fight yada yada. Good grief. I'm not going to stop watching the show, but I feel like I can't watch any of the newer shows anymore without them trying to push partisan politics.

Hi,

You're absolutely right. I noticed this when I was watching it and I live in the UK. Also, Cat's line when the President is revealed to be an alien, "Well, at least tell me you're still a democrat.", as if it's ok for an alien to lie and disguise itself to the American people to get votes to essentially become the leader of the free world as long as she's still a democrat. It's really getting out of hand.

We have the same problem over here in the UK with the BBC and its extreme left-wing agenda that has stained every part of its output - news, comedy, drama, documentaries. Can't the TV stations make programmes that everyone can enjoy whether you're on the left or right and leave the political stuff for the news?

I did purchase the first season of Supergirl on blu-ray, as it didn't seem that saturated with left-wing views. However, I picked up the second season off the shelf in the shop and then put it back. On the back of the blu-ray box it said, "Supergirl - A Hero For Everyone", but only if you vote democrat I thought.

Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. This is the reason why I usually don't watch new programs. You can't watch anything anymore without that crap shoved down your throat. And what really gets me is that I feel like their thought process is that their right and everybody that disagrees with them is stupid and it's their duty to educate and smarten them up. The arrogance of that is off the charts. I made the mistake of watching Boston Legal and man do I regret that.

Bunch of crybabies here

Oh really? Let's just accept an obvious political agenda shoved down our throats because the mere mention of it makes us "crybabies" pfffft

That is why we need politics out of entertainment. Its annoying. Smallville didnt resort to that

It's only "an obvious political agenda shoved down our throat" because you don't agree with it and can't come up with a better argument that doesn't make you sound like an ass. So you resort to the "MEDIA CONSPIRACY" narrative that you've been trained to regurgitate.

It has nothing to do with coming up with a better argument. This isn't complex and thought provoking stuff they're pushing. I suspect you wouldn't love the idea of partisan politics pushed on you if it was coming from the conservative side. You love it because you agree with it and call anybody a whiner that doesn't. I expressed my opinion on it and said I wasn't going to stop watching. Honestly you sound like the whiner here who doesn't like when someone disagrees with your left wing politics. I don't want any politics in these shows

Kevin Sorbo is in season 3, so I'll tolerate it....

The season premier last night was excruciating in this regard. I guess we will keep seeing Cat Grant as a talking head pushing political talking points that have nothing to do with the show. There was more political pandering than there was plot last night.

yes you are in fact whining since you started the frigging thread. And no one is "pushing it" lol. If that is really so hard for you to tolerate then your life must be really difficult. But you're still going to watch it so apparently it doesn't bother you, yet you started this idiotic thread just to complain about it. Just stfu. If there's a political opinion I don't like, I can debate it whereas you just run to "OH HEPP ME THAIR FORCING IT DOWN MUH THROT".

I expressed an opinion on a tv show get over it. Not everybody has to love everything about a tv show they watch. Stop whining and don't read the thread if it bothers you so much. This is not about debating politics. The point is that we don't want politics in the show. That's what cable news is for.

You have to be kidding everyone if you're going to pretend like we're not constantly bombarded by leftist garbage everywhere we go nowadays. Leftists are passive-aggressive pussies who want the bullying state to take over and dominate every aspect of life. People like you pretend to care about people and the environment, but apparently by your obnoxious, condescending reply, all you care about is total control and dictating to everyone.

Whether anyone has a counter-argument or not is irrelevant. Do you really want to go to a wine tasting or comic con convention and see a group of people standing around with signs saying "abortion is murder" or "AIDS kills fags dead" signs? There should be places to go and things to indulge in where we can be free of social/political influences and biases. The world USED to be exactly this way...AND it was a much more mature, pleasant place to live in.

The more people like you insist on shoving your stupid crap up everyone's asses, the more determined people are becoming to do anything to stop and marginalize you people as much as possible. If you have nothing relevant to say, then your mouth should be duct taped shut and you should be place in a sound-proof room so you can yammer at the wall, for you'd be doing the same as you are now, only real people would no longer have to suffer through your tiresome, totalitarian crap.

Run along now, child...

That's disappointing Taylorfirst. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that. I recorded it but haven't watched it yet. Now I'm debating on whether I should even watch it. Then I'll be tempted to keep watching it and they'll just keep getting worse with that stuff.

Yep. These retards are willing to take throat full of wein'stain. I feel sorry those who gotta endure these clowns in real life. Being in a land that doest get affected by the bullshit propaganda through our favourite shows, it's getting relatively harder to follow these shows anymore.
