I don't like this guy. I don't know if it's the actor or the character, but I wish he would go away.
Regardless, since it's obvious he's going to stick around--especially since the actor and Melissa Benoist are now an item--can't he make himself useful? He has super power and doesn't use them...at least I can't recall him using them recently. He basically could be National City's Superman and all he does is talk about kissing Kara. Do something, man.

I think the actor is good and very appealing as a male lead for the show. The problems you point out are more related to writing and directing.

Mon-El is awesome imo, but I do feel like the writers are afraid of letting him upstage Supergirl so they have held him back.
