ok things are going sideways. I was getting into the whole corporate wars etc.

Now it looks like its following the EXPANSE down the rabbit hole?

Could be good but a risk no doubt.

I agree. I wish they had never brought aliens into it. I hope nuking that portal puts an end to that story line.

Oh crap this is combining GOT & EXPANCE. The common enemy will force them to "hang together of hang separately"

Looks like next season will be the exact same tired plot that Killjoys had this season. All powerful alien invasion. The Aliens can take over people's bodies. They will be 10 steps ahead of the good guys all season. Every good guy plan will fail until some totally random thing in the last episode. The show was great up until this point. I wish they had just kept going the way they were.

SyFy have cancelled the show!

I hate tv show cliffhangers for this very reason

This is why shows should never have season ending cliff hangers. I will miss this show.

agreed;

if the writers are not sure they are getting another season they should round off the story. with maybe a little cliffhanger so viewers want to come back to it next season.

just as I was actually getting into the story.....figures!

I agree. Of course the show has been canceled, unless we can get Netflix or someone to buy it and produce more of it.

But I hate this whole mega powerful alien threat thing they decided to write into the plot. I think it robs the show of it's balance. We had a group of ultra criminals, trying to do good as they remake themselves during their amnesia, battling evil corporate governing powers, etc. I like knowing who the enemy is, what he is capable of, etc. I don't like this nebulous enemy, with powers which far surpass what our heroes have.

I thought the plot started suffering when they made 4 turn to completely against the crew. He still had his new memories, and his old self, while violent and Machiavellian to some extent, was committed to a code of honor. He had promised Two that when he regained his throne, he would never forget who his real family was, the people who risked life and limb to save his life so many times. It made no sense therefore to have 4 speak and act as though that promise had never been made, as if they were enemies to be killed. And it made no sense to me that the Raza would not have offered early on to come to his aid, to help in his war so his people would not be wiped out by Pyr.

I agree 100% with this sentiment! I hate the all powerful alien enemy cliché. So many scifi shows have gone down the same path. Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse, and Killjoys for example. I hate it for the all the reasons you sited. It actually makes me less upset that this show got cancelled.

Right? Why have all these shows done the same thing? It shows a lack of imagination, a lack or originality at the very least. And I think it's a cop out, an easy way out for the writers. By introducing this weird, shapeless, mysterious, almost indestructible alien force, the writers are leaving everything to the imagination of the viewers. Like we are supposed to say "Oooooooooh, what is it? How are the characters I identify with going to overcome this weird, ill-defined, force?" Sorry, the floating black mass bit doesn't really do it for me. It is far removed from my frame of reference, and the writers don't give us any information about it, it's properties, it's weaknesses, it's needs, etc. The only thing I know about it is, when Boone was infected with it and they put him in the stasis pod, the black liquid came out of him pronto.

Creating tension and crises is a big part of writing stories. It seems like these sci fi writers collectively decided to bail on us, take the easy way out, the cheap way. It seems like they stole it from the X-Files, with it's alien "black oil" virus. At least the in the X-files it was just a sub-plot. Perhaps the X-Files stole the idea from somewhere else, I don't know.

But I am sick of it.

It is on a par with the cheap camera tricks some directors use in order to avoid having to film people actually fighting, or running, etc. Shake the camera around, make the viewer a little dizzy, call it a fight scene. I saw one cheap movie where they were showing a guy running through the woods, supposedly. They bounced the camera to simulate him running with a wooded background behind him. How cheap is that? I mean, how hard it is to film somebody actually running?

I agree again on all points.

i need to watch the whole show again as the 'mega powerful alien threat thing' just seem to pop-out from nowhere for me, perhaps i missed a episode...

BTW "Krypton" is doing the exact same thing but Brainiac is the super powerful alien enemy.

It's pretty good so far.
