Whether it's any good or not. It doesn't matter if it's the greatest thing to have ever graced the earth. Even if it contains the meaning of life or creates peace on earth.
With the flack Iron Fist took and the amount of hype this is getting, people are gonna be harsh. It's quality will be irrelevant.
I would put money on it.
So people who are really looking forward to it, if you enjoy it, don't let the backlash spoil your fun.

Yup. It got 15% on rotten tomatoes. That's probably the lowest score I've ever seen on that site. But there are a fair amount of people who like it too.
I've already talked about this in another thread so I won't go into it again here, but here is the link if your interested:

It was largely panned by critics and fans, grizz. You may be in the minority, liking it as much as you did.
And, yes, they announced a second season, but no release date, yet.

Ummm ... No season seems too long if it is good. And that wasn't the primary complaint anyhow. You're like one of those people who claim that what people didn't like about the DC movies was that they were "too dark." The complaint is about quality, not quantity. I'd take 24 episodes a season if they were as good as DD.

Having finally finished The Defenders I can honestly say I was disappointed. I didn't think it was bad, it was fairly amusing but nowhere near as good as it should have been.
My problems with it were similar to the reasons I always thought The Avengers was overrated. Long, drawn out scenes of empty exposition attempting to mask the lack of story or depth. But The Avengers did a better job with the banter and general character bonding.
With regards to my OP, I confess I was kind of wrong. The public reaction to The Defenders doesn't seem to be one of hate but more of indifference. I don't really hear many people talk about it that much and reviews seemed to be passable rather than terrible. Which is odd because I'd say there was more to criticize here than in Iron Fist.
Netflix and Marvel didn't even seem to make a big deal of it's release either. I expected there to be adverts everywhere considering this is supposed to be their big, built up event. The whole end product and surrounding lack of cultural impact seemed like they'd lost interest in their own endeavor.

In the case of Iron Fist, a whole cup of urine would have been welcome.
