Simple question as I have watched Iron Fist and I'm on episode 9 of Luke Cage. She wasn't as annoying in Iron Fist but she really didn't add anything to the show. In Luke Cage she seems to have slowed the show down to a crawl. She brings nothing to the show(I realize with Pops gone she is kind of Luke's sounding board but still) except that stupid "keep breathing" line she always seems to use when someone is hurt. Not sure if it's Rosario Dawson or just the writing of the character that's at fault. I really loved the first 3 or 4 episodes of Luke Cage and thought it was so well written but adding Claire Temple and killing off Cottonmouth kind of made it far less serious.

I wouldn't be surprised if they kill her off during the Defenders, as she's pretty much set up as the Defenders' Coulson.

To tell the truth she's one of the reasons I stuck with the show after Pops died I'm having a hard time caring for Luke he just has no personality whatsoever I cant even say he has a dry sense of humor because its basically non existent during season 1. It took interacting with Iron Fist to get anything out of that character maybe they can bring in Iron Fist for a episode or 2 so Luke can be less robotic.

She was good in Daredevil, and in her brief appearance at the end of JJ. She got way worse in both Luke Cage and Iron First though. So that's bad writing, not the actress.

She is annoying as hell in all Marvel Netflix shows especially in Luke Cage S2. I was so glad when they finally got rid of her! I hope she never returns. Colleen Wing and Misty Knight on the other hand are awesome, lets just focus on them and make a Daughters of the Dragon show.

I’ve just started the saga. Finished “Iron Fist” and “Luke”—now doing “Jessica Jones”.
The way Claire pops up, I had to ask someone if she was the “Superhero Whisperer”. But, then I stopped them before they answered, because I want to watch things unfold in-my-on-time.
Anyway; in answer to your question…
I like the character, and the actress in the role.
Even a superhero needs a “rudder”. Plus, it’s nice to have at least one person around who does not want anything except what was best for the hero. Everyone else (some more than others), seem to have an agenda.
Claire is the embodiment of a hero without any of the superpowers; plus she speaks truths and has moral fiber to spare. And, the actress brings intensity and believability to the role without “chewing up the scenery”.
She is keeper (I hope).

I like her. Rosario Dawson still looks good and her character helps provide the kind of counsel and balance that Pop used to give Luke. I have liked her since I saw her in Men In Black. She has those big beautiful eyes.
For some reason I thought season 2 lacked the punch of season 1. Also they changed the plot somewhat. In the beginning these superhero type shows set up the character by showing his or her awesome abilities, demonstrating how they are nearly invincible. But later on they introduce some kind of kryptonite or weakness. They did this with the Jamaican dude with his knock out dust and his herbal super strength. I don't know why but I have never liked that kind of story arc. I never like it when the superhero becomes vulnerable.
Luke is kind of monotone emotionally. I guess the writers want him to seem unconcerned about the dangers which would alarm normal people. Anyway, his facial expressions sort of hint at what he is feeling but he doesn't give too much away. Strong, tough, few words, that shtick. It can be overdone and Luke Cage comes close to it.

Funny about the sense of humor. I just finished S2 and laughed when Mariah told Luke he was no fun, unlike his father. That had to have really bugged Luke. Then we do get an episode with IF bringing some fun into the mix.

Enjoyed seeing "Iron Fist" on the series. "Marvel" is really big on buddy-banter; and it's something that comes across really well in the TV shows as well as the movies.
No doubt, it’s good to have a just-like-me friend around who understands that being a superhero is also a burden—someone who is aware of the pitfalls that come with the territory—so, knows exactly what you are going through.
Others can empathize—Pop, Claire, Dad—but, they’ve never experienced it, so they’ll never really know.

Yeah, there is a natural camaraderie with another of your kind. They get it, you don't have to explain. They might not be your best friend but they can relate to you and understand you more easily than others, at least with respect to your shared experience.

Misty Knight and Mariah Dillard are the annoying ones. I've tried to finish this season since it came out and im only on episode 8 so far.

Misty hasn’t quite grown on me. I’m trying to like her, but I’m still at the: with-her-or-without-her-it's-all-the-same point. I don’t mind her, but wouldn’t miss her if she were gone. She is such a “stock” character.
Mariah; however, I love Mariah from the bottom of her feet to the top of her head, and every villainess hair on her body. Pure, unadulterated evil—when done right (and the actress does it right)—can be a wonder to behold. Too often with female villains they give them a “soft side”, a “touchy-feely” quality somewhere deep down. It’s refreshing to see one such as Mariah—who has none of that.
Ruthless. - Ambitious. - Manipulative. - Evil to the core. - And Loyalty is a four letter word...
...I love a good machinating villain.

i put it this way in terms of the big villains:
Cottonmouth was a cocky, cool heel Bushmaster was a misguided, yet justified heel. Mariah is a true heel.
