No Jud Paynter in season 3, no real explanation was given why he was omitted but I guess it was the actors scheduling conflicts, I hope he returns for season 4, else it ‘tint right, ‘tint fair, ‘tint proper!'

After viewing the season premiere tonight on PBS I was also wondering why Jud was gone! Prudie said something about him carting off -- or was it that he was carted off? -- while she was making seductive remarks to Drake, Demelza's handsome brother. I'm not sure if I understood correctly and will have to watch again with captions. Maybe Jud's in jail!
