Discuss Bloodline

This ending makes me miss the IMDB forums. Hopefully these forums take off as I found countless shows and awesome bits, on the IMDB forums. Hell, I even wrote a few scripts in their forums, well near scripts.

Anyway, don't bother with Season 3. Just enjoy the glorious Ben Mendelsohn in Season 1 and then Season 2 if you feel like it. Season 3 and the way it ended, should be a lesson in what not to do as a writer. It sucked and will leave you pissed off. Just don't do it.

Season 1 - 10/10

Season 2 - 8/10

Season 3 - Potato/10

I rate the series a perfect 10/10 because of season 1. The production, the acting, the directing, et al, is the epitome of perfect imho. It is must view material for anyone slightly interested in media. After season 2, it just went straight to shit.

I agree with everything you've written in this post, including the part about hoping these forums take off a bit. I swear they were more active in the immediate closure of the imdb boards. I really like it here but find so many interesting films with no opinions offered. It's a shame. I think it'll just take time though.

And on Bloodline. Just yeah. What you said. So disappointed by S03. The only scene which I thought was genuinely really moving and powerful was between John and Diana when they talked about how their love hadn't ended but the circumstances that supported it had dismantled to a point it was unsustainable. Kyle Chandler's acting in that scene was fantastic. I totally believed both of them, and the pacing of the direction for that scene was just right as well.

People might be a bit slow on the uptake of these forums in part for fear that after years of invested time it might happen here too. Hopefully that'll change. People like us have probably got to put in a little extra effort. ;-) I might even go and copy the reviews I made on imdb and update them before posting here. Had a few that people liked and thought were helpful.

That scene you mentioned was definitely one of the best scenes of the entire third dismal season.

I'd love to have seen the show take a completely different turn after season 1. I felt what it should have done was bring in another family. Follow Meg to the city and deal with a family she gets involved with there. Blending two families into it, but each season focusing more on a new family. It would meant the writing options were limitless. Instead the path they went with found the show limited into a box with a lit fuse; a deadline.

Hopefully I'll bump into you more on these forums :-)

HORRIBLE SERIES FINALE!!! The episode before it was even worse. I kept thinking why are they wasting this valuable time with only 1 more episode after this? What was the point of it anyway? It was too weird & hard to figure out where the hell...what the hell...what the heck was that?? The finale itself was terrible & seemed to have lost direction in many ways. Very disappointed it ended on such a "WTF??" moment. PS: How ridiculous was it John finally tried to confess & dude's like "sorry, I took another job...good luck buddy" WTH...SMH.

I agree about the ninth episode. It was like they tried to do an X-Files episode where Mulder keeps repeating the day and instead of achieving brilliance, they just butchered everything. It had no purpose and I don't know one person who liked it, enjoyed it or could even tolerate it. That episode is the worst episode of anything I've watched. Ever.

And you're right about the ending totally sucking. "You tore me John." LOLOLOLOLOL. Sorry, it was meant to be powerful, the actors tried, the script though, the writing and overall story just let everything down. I know 10 people, not even writers, who could have finished the series in a more powerful way. At the very least it should have ended powerfully, but much like a guy in a car, it proceeded to blow it's brians out much earlier for no apparent reason.

Nice knowing I'm not the only one it pissed off to no end.

Oh God. Yeah, that scene with Mama Rayburn listing her birth experience with each of them was disastrous. The only thing I liked about it was Kevin saying to John about 10 times "come on, let's leave, there's nothing for us here..." I was like, jesus John, listen to your brother - your Mum has gone bat shit crazy, get the f out of there!

hahahahahahahahahaah, oh shit I forgot Kevin was saying that! You're 100% right, I too was like yeah let's leave this shambles. Cringeworthy 101. LOL. As much as the actors tried, there are just some things, little things that are best left untorn if you'll pardon the expression ;-)
