Discusión The Missing

As much as I sympathized with him I honestly did not like him. Was he that way all along or did losing his son turn him into a single minded self absorbed a-hole?

In the end, while horrible sad, he became a victim of his own inability to move on, let go, accept the truth. Have not seen any season 2 yet but wonder if there is a foot note mention to say if he's in a Russian jail or an English mental hospital.

There is only one mention of Tony in season two by Julian's wife telling him he's becoming obsessed with this case as Tony was that there is no difference between them.

SPOILERS FOLLOW SPOILERS

I just watched season 1 and I have to say I found it overlong and irritating. The constant switching between time frames was confusing because the only way you could tell was through his wife's hair style. There were far too many sub plots that distracted the flow of the story and I still can't understand why Ian Garret would fund a search for the child and why his wife would love a man who abused and killed his own child. Why would Tony believe his child was still alive if a cleaner had been sent in to deal with the blood ? And where did the child get the crayons from to draw the picture in the cellar? The cleaner's reason for leaving it was beyond stupid given that he was there to remove all evidence. I still can't make out the phone call the reporter had about Garret - why would Tony's wife think that she was phoning him? Who funded Tony's continuing international search? If this was meant to illustrate the stunning incompetence and corruption of the French police we have already seen that with the death of Princess Diana. I don't know if I can sit through another endless story using the same methods as this one.
