Discusión Grantchester

Satisfactory 8th season overall, though it didn't engross or much leave me caring about this and that storyline a lot of the time. I was sufficiently fine with S8 though.

Hopefully eventual S9 will be a winner and not another (like in S8) ongoing wallow in a core character's self-pity, a loving core couple's unhappiness, etc.

Just found and finished the series…

I’m a really big fan of “Whodunits” with lots of twists-and-turns; so this series is right up my alley.

I was a little “put out” when Sidney disappeared, and Will appeared. However, Will and his storyline turned out to be a worthy replacement.

While the actors are excellent; my biggest compliment goes to the writers. They are masters of making the supporting characters as interesting as the leads. Also, they “grow the characters” over time, and not let them stagnate to the point where you come to expect the same-old-same-old. Plus, I like it that…same as in the real world…the “good” people are allowed to be imperfect AND flawed AND make awful decisions AND deliberately do bad.

Overall, enjoy S1-S8 quite a bit.

Looking forward to S9.

SPECIAL thumbsup TO "LARRY"!

I agree with everything you stated, Form.

It's great seeing both Larry and saucy Miss Scott increasingly, steadily come in to their own as well-utilized, interesting, appreciated, enjoyable regular characters.

All the series cast of ongoing core characters (all perfectly cast and very well enacted) has had wonderful character and story development throughout the seasons. (I became a viewer with S4, so have no familiarity with the series prior to then.) It's easy to love and care about these people...while at the same time at times wanting to give some of them a good shaking or/and firm talking to!

Form, I just glanced at your TMDb home page and laughed, and still am knowingly smiling, at your presented "If this is coffee, please bring me some tea; but if this is tea, please bring me some coffee." Lincoln quotation. lol. It makes me laugh and smile because ocassionally, when I was a kid and teen, if my mom had just a small amount of coffee left in the percolator/pot, and sometime later had just made a pot of tea, she'd pour the leftover coffee into the tea...which wasn't exactly a winning combination. 😄 Was tolerable, though I've never opted to carry on that practice throughout the subsequent years of my life.

Yes, Miss Scott holds her own...and then some. Even though she has gotten bolder-and-bolder, she has always known her worth; and has repeatedly put those "little grey cells" to good use. Also, without her, I don't think Larry would have ever realized that he has 'guts'...and a brain to go with them.

I didn't forget Miss Scott; but chose Larry as my favorite because, after all this time being 'stepped on'...he finally 'stepped-up'.

As for Lincoln's coffee/tea stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye He was quite the jokester and teller of tall tales...often making himself the foil of his own jokes. Also, he was a lot about the "message" within the humor. He could get his listeners to laughing and thinking at the same time.
