The episodes should be listed in the order of their original Japanese broadcast.

If the episodes are listed in the seasons of the Japanese broadcast, the episodes in the Master Journeys season should all belong in the Journeys season. Also all the seasons are currently split following the American seasons? -just curious-

This anime, as well as some others, is currently listed on the list of anime where the seasons need a complete reorganisation to match the Japanese broadcast. This will be done at a later date, not yet defined, by the administrator (this can't be done manually). In the meantime, we just verify that the episodes are listed in correct order.

They are in the same order, it's just that Master Journeys should only be 42 episodes, everything 43 and up is in the correct order, just needs to be moved to S25 Ultimate Journeys

The problem with how it is now is that this site DOES follow the American seasons. So we should continue with that and have Season 24 stop at episode 42. It makes no sense to have the series follow American numbering for 1000 episodes and then stop for the last 20 or so. It should either be all US (which currently it is 99% US order), or all Japanese (which would require re-doing it basically from the ground up). But having it be US release for 24 seasons and then all of the sudden stop following that is a weird hybrid, almost as bad as how the TVDB has it.

Agreed. At least move the episodes of this season. In November there will probably be a new anime anyway, so it makes sense to change to the japanese order when that happens.

It would definitely make way more sense to move Episode 43+ of Master Journeys to the next season as per American airing until everything is being actively changed to match the Japanese seasons since so far everything else is correctly listed under the US structure At least as Season 25 they are correct for English release and consistent with current format of the listing not some weird hybrid smush that doesn't match anything like TVDB has, leaving them in Season 24 just means they are just 100% in the wrong as they are either Season 25 (US) or Season 13 (JP) and in no release are they Season 24.

And now someone has added episodes to season 25. This will mess with tracking websites. Please, move the information to the correct season.

I'd say the way it is now with the episodes copied to 25 works great as a compromise

We just need to know if they will keep these episodes.

I'll join in as a contributor for most recent French metadata on this show, it makes no sense to move up to a Japanese order now after more than a 1000 episodes. TVDB follows that order and it's an absolute mess, which is why I stopped contributing there and I've been putting my time here instead. TVDB was hellbent on those unbreakable rules (especially on shows like Money Heist where the original TV and Netflix ordering collides, making it absolutely useless for people using systems like Plex, since almost no-one in the world observes the Spanish TV ordering) and faced an exodus of contributors, please do not do a rerun of that here.

I agree with the aforementioned replies, all episodes from Season 24 after EP42 should be moved/merged in Season 25 to follow the current order at least for now. If Japanese order is that important to some, I don't see why we can't make an alternate ordering list for that. But reshuffling the order now is gonna make more people angry than anything else.

I think they mean arranging seasons on something close to this: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/60572-pok-mon/edit/episode_group/5e8d599d629b2c001801523b

But that still wouldn't be totally correct with the japanese order since XY and XY&Z, are divided, and BW also has a few subdivisions. Since it is all one thing, I don't think they will divide it into more shows at least (I hope they don't).TVDB uses a mix of english and japanese, that is indeed a total mess.

For now, I think they should just delete the extra episodes of season 24. That would at least be correct with the english order. I do understand the problem with it, since we never know when the seasons will be divided, and this happens every year when the episode the season ends airs in english. And that messes TMDB and every tracker I use.

For the record, if the intention is to organize the multiple Pokemon series according to how the Japanese organize them, then not only does all of Journeys get bundled together but all of the individual, separate Pokemon series need to be split apart as they are organized in both Japan and America (no country I know of counts every single episode of the entire franchise as a single series).

List of official series within the giant TMDB "Pokemon" series: Japanese title (American title)

Pocket Monsters (Pokemon) = seasons 1 through 5
Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation (Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire) = seasons 6 through 9
Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl (Pokemon Diamond & Pearl) = seasons 10 through 13
Pocket Monsters Best Wishes! (Pokemon Black & White) = seasons 14 through 16
Pocket Monsters XY (Pokemon XY) = seasons 17 through 19
Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon (Pokemon Sun & Moon) = seasons 20 through 22
Pocket Monsters 2019 (Pokemon Journeys) = seasons 23 through current

I would not agree that it needs to be split into multiple shows. On the official Pokemon website for America they have "Pokemon the Series" Episode Encyclopedia that expressly refers to them as Season 1 through 24 (25th having not formally aired in US yet)

The Japanese site isn't quite as explict, but I feel like the same inference is present as their Anime/Animation section is specifically all of the main series lumped together but does not include any of the other animated series (Origins, Generations, Twilight Wings, Poketoons, Chronicles, Evolutions, Hisuian Snow etc.) - like it is clear they consider the main series anime as one entity that is distinct from the other mini series things they release that are not part of it.

Plus all the main stay Pokemon fandom resources of the franchise as a whole always refers to the TV series being one entity overall as it is the ongoing story of Ash.

Like sure there are distinct Series breaks themeatically whenever the Pokemon generation changes as they refresh the art and get Ash over to the new region and the new mons, but the US listings recognise this and still list them as continuous seasons of the same show. Plus even within that I don't think them having distinct subtitles can be used as every Season has a unique subtitle - like why should "Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation" be its own series and not a season of the larger show if "Pocket Monsters XY & Z" is just season 2 of "Pocket Monsters XY" The only time the season subtitles really directly suppot being unique shows is "Best Wishes!" has "Best Wishes! Season 2" but equally in the JP airing it was brokne into 4 distinct seasons and the 3rd and 4th are "Best Wishes! Season 2: Episode N" and "Best Wishes! Season 2: Decolora Adventure"

Also, in TMDB rules I think it is supposed to be all in one page since "Sequels series (i.e. a direct continuation of the story) are added within the same entry. When the episodes numbers are continuous, all episodes are added to the same season. When the episode count is restarted (i.e. the first episode is Episode 1), the new episodes are added as a new season."

All generations of the Pokémon anime are sequels, so it should all go to the same page.
