You might be onto something there being as Kim was not part of Breaking Bad.....................and it is TV land after all. The show Nashville killed off a major character after a car accident. It seemed she was going to be fine and then BAM she died........
Yeah, the writers painted themselves in a corner when they created her character. She has to either die, or completely turn against Jimmy, cutting all contact with him as an associate. So either way, something really bad has to happen for her to disappear from his life.
Why do people keep saying this? We never saw any of Jimmy's personal life on BB. Literally none. He could have been living with Kim and giving her foot rubs every night for all we know.

One of the writers indicated on Talking Saul that they have to figure out the "Kim" problem.
Kim is in corporate law, she's probably tied up in a high-rise somewhere with no love life, no social life and no free time. We know how committed she is, it almost cost her her life. Even if it was a wake up call, I think if she got her big break in the future, she would take it no matter what.

Maybe we didn't see it but somewhere on BB Jimmy mentions a 2nd wife and how he caught her sleeping with his father (?).

Which just means they have to explain why we never saw or heard of Kim on Breaking Bad. Doesn't mean she's dead or even not a part of Jimmy's life. I can think of 100 different reasons we may not have seen her on BB, and Vince is 100 times more creative than I am.
Kim doesn't have to die:- Perhaps she simply becomes Saul's first referal to his "make you disappear" guy?
In fact if they wanted to wrap up the entire series on a particularly saccharine note, once Saul has finished his flash-forward day working at the Cinnabon, perhaps he could be shown arriving back at some fairly anonymous home with Kim waiting for him...
Think the final episode showed she might be moving away from the high pace lawyer life. Perhaps she'll move back home, make a career change, etc. Think it would only take one more case of finding Jimmy/Saul getting mixed up in illegal activities that may be the final straw for her - as she previously mentions "I can't know about this stuff". Perhaps Saul does one more criminal act for Mike - sending her packing. That would likely have a similar affect on Saul, as dying.
Bob Odenkirk has revealed how he believes Chuck’s (Michael McKenna) death will affect his character, Jimmy’s final transformation into Saul Goodman. As Breaking Bad‘s much-anticipated prequel spin-off, we all know the character trajectory that Better Call Saul is treading for the younger McGill brother. But in the three years that the show has been on, Jimmy is still grappling with the idea of conscience, thus still unable to fully transform into Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) unscrupulous and exploitative legal aid we first met in the critically acclaimed series about wheeling and dealing meth. But it seems that the ultimate incident that would finally tip him over the edge has already come via the supposed death of Chuck. Fans definitely have a lot to look forward to when Better Call Saul returns for its fourth season. While some have mocked the show for its narrative’s slow burn – taking at least three seasons before Saul finally emerges – the series tends to focus on Jimmy’s journey from being the scrappy but gold-hearted lawyer to a ruthless one. And every single bit that has transpired in his life until now will have a part in shaping his eventual character and mindset as Saul Goodman.

That is definitely another point........we can assume all day long, but NONE of us (but the writers) really know.

I think Jimmy will somehow get stuck working for Gus like Mike did.

He mentioned a 2nd wife in BB if I remember correctly. I'm wondering if Kim was his first wife very briefly before she either died or divorced him.
