Discuss Better Call Saul

Another episode that makes you cheer for Jimmy. I loved the way he hustled those selfish dudes that owned that music store and how Jimmy hustled him and that guys way out of doing community service. His bad is so good.

Yeah, what an excellent human being Jimmy is. Committing insurance fraud and getting his broke and desperate crew to become accomplices. He sure turned out to have excellent moral characteristics........

Well then why do you watch this show?

Because it's entertaining. Doesn't mean I have to drink the Kool Aide and delude myself into thinking Jimmy has any moral character in him.

Well I never said that Jimmy was doing the moral thing. I'm just saying that in this episode Jimmy makes being bad look cool.

In my opinon Jimmy is a very moral person. He mirrors the morality of these two dudes: just care about yourself and take what you can get.

I disagree because I put myself in the shoes of the shop owners. If I were two struggling business owners who received a pitch like Jimmy's, I too would do some research into commercial time. And seeing that Jimmy wasn't offering anything they couldn't get on their own, they knew he was trying to pull a quick hustle. After calling him out, he decided to fake an injury and sue them, even taking a valuable guitar from them. Being the shop owners, I would be extremely pissed, and probably looking to see what kind of legal actions I can take against this slimy scuz ball of a human being.

The music shop case is probably more morally ambiguous - they both landed up trying to con each other.

However Jimmy's actions towards that old dear was another matter - in fact I couldn't even decide if that tied up with the BB version of the character at all...

But they alreadymade the deal with Jimmy. The time looking fur a better deal had passed. It was a hard sale to begin with. They didn't even want to buy a commercial spot from Jimmy in the first place. They should honor the deal they made with Jimmy. It was kind of like a verbal contract. Yeah they overpaidbut that's their own fault for being stubborn.

I'll admit that I think they should have owned up to their end of the agreement. They got a free commercial and just had to pay for the production and the air time. However, put yourself in their shoes before filing a judgment. It's easy to look down when you're sitting on a higher horse than anyone else is. I bet when it came to your own money, you'd be doing the same thing the shop owners did.
