I am almost through season 1 of Chicago Med and I’m enjoying it. To change it up a little I thought I’d start in on Chicago PD. I assumed there might be some crossover with the characters which would be fun.
My question is - I started into the first episode of Chicago PD and it’s quite violent and gritty. Is this the undertone of the entire show or are they just starting out with a bang? I understand it’s a cop show set in a big city but if it doesn’t lighten up a little I’m not going to be able to stick with it.

I can't say it does. One thing I've learned from watching both shows, is not to get too attached to any of the characters.

Interesting. I have some characters I like and some that are meh. It will be interesting to see which ones last....

Voight was the worst character on Chicago Fire (which is where his character first appeared). I couldn't believe that TIIC made a whole show around him (I'm not a huge fan of the actor either). I like Fire & Med but DO NOT watch PD because of that character. So it really annoys me when they do crossovers between the three.

His voice is pretty hard to take, in addition to the character itself. Looks like he’s in for 149 episodes so we’re stuck with him.

I like the tough, but still caring, Trudy Platt.
