As Star Trek: Deep Space Nine airs it's pilot episode, Paramount airs this 50 minute documentary as a way to spark excitement about the new show. This TV special originally aired on January 4, 1993 in the UK but wasn't released for home media until July 20, 1994 in the U.S.
