Debat Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

It's true that Rom wasn't as stupid as Quark sometimes said he was. But he wasn't a significant economic thinker. And his "moogee" wasn't there to help like she did with Zek.

DS9 didn't run long enough after that, maybe it was mentioned in an after-series novel, but it might have been nice to somehow SEE the smoldering ruins of the Ferengi economy after Grand Nagus Rom was at it for a while.

Would it be a disappointment if Nog's reign as Grand Nagus was a huge success and Ferengi culture went through a golden age?

Not really a disappointment, no. But very, VERY unlikely. Essentially impossible. It would be like saying "Wow, the US economy really took off after Nancy Pelosi became president! And it didn't even matter that she spent 10 times the total world GDP on super-trains-to-nowhere!"

Settle down Knix. The US will only improve when Lisa Simpson takes charge.

But since Nancy Pelosi never was president you can't know for sure that the US economy could take off.Just because she is a woman doesn't make her less fit for president we have had various countries being run woman in the past some of them successful.

The point isn't that Pelosi is (allegedly) a woman. The problem is how much she would want to spend, etc, if she ever became president. If you think Trump spends too much, you ain't seen nothin'! Pelosi and others like her don't just believe US taxpayers should pay for all abortions in the US, they believe US taxpayers should pay for all abortions world-wide! And that's just for starters. Even in the recent "stimulus bill," Pelosi wanted to pile on way more, most if not all of which consisted of payoffs to friendly business interests etc, much of which would have found its way back to Pelosi and other Democrats as "campaign contributions." As a lot of what did get into the "stimulus bill" probably will. The millions to the Kennedy Center for example. There's already the book out Clinton Cash, next would be Pelosi Cash.

What if paying for abortions are cheaper than having to pay often single mothers every month because they have no income woman who often aren't able to work because they have to raise the children.Or after the children are born and put into orphanages which will cost the community also money.

Even if that's true, it's no reason why the US should be paying for abortions elsewhere in the world.

But the main thing is personal responsibility. Which includes assumption of risk, a very unpopular concept these days, it seems. People think they should be able to do whatever they like, and someone else will pay for it.

Nobody asks that of the US in fact most have some form of medicare and those abortions are paid from that .

Maybe it would help if certain countries had a less puritanical view on sex and sexuality and promote the use prophylactics in stead of listening to old pointy hat in Rome.

And yet that's what Pelosi and other Democrats wanted money for, added to the "stimulus bill." Also before this, too. But they like to jam stuff into other bills that they figure are too popular to get voted down or vetoed.

You mean, all those people who listen to old pointy hat in Rome before getting another abortion? That wasn't even my point, but if they DID actually listen, they wouldn't have the problems you ascribe.

So politicians acting like politicians and Dems bad Repubs good. Got it.
