Discuss Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

I never understood why Sisko was moping around Jadzia's casket. It was Dax that had the memories and wisdom he needed - and it had Jadzia's memories too! And Dax survived the attack. Sisko should have been working on making sure Dax came back to him, somehow. But maybe that would have been too obvious?

I'm not so sure. In tonight's episode on H&I for example ("A Man Alone") when Sisko is talking to Bashir about Dax, it seems pretty clear that Sisko controls his otherwise-natural "urges" simply because of the Dax symbiont. So it isn't difficult to figure that he might not feel any need to hold back in the "mirror universe" with un-joined Jadzia, even if it wasn't partly to maintain his cover story. As evidently "mirror" Sisko and Jadzia already had an ongoing romantic/sexual relationship.

And hey, if you can't believe the "mirror universe"....

Well, okay. If you can't believe the "mirror universe" that just proves you're sane. But we're talking about what they SAY and SHOW, not whether any of it makes a bit of sense.

I never liked the symbiont Dax. A 'joined' person is never the same as the host alone. You never get to know the real person you see in front of you, just a combination of both. It's quite confusing for the simple humans, whose first impression is usually the outside appearance.

It'd be better if the symbiont could also be seen, like on the shoulder or head.

Preferably not in the stomach

To qoute from Blazzing Saddles "Not in the face"

Maybe in the neck like those aliens in Conspiracy?

As long as it's clearly visible, and you know who you're talking to every time.

Would one get distracted maybe even tempted to pull it out?

Only if it gets annoying.

Lump in neck.
