Here we're told that Worf and Jadzia had children and grandchildren etc. But in the "real" DS9 timeline we're told that it takes a lot of medical help, which apparently would not have been available under the circumstances.

Also, they talk about the 8,000 colonists who were alive at that time. But no mention of the thousands that preceded them, having already lived and died over the previous 200 years.
