Plus they needto change the the whole current politics of the BBC because that lies at the heart of the problem. The BBC TV was untill like 5 years ago very good and very diverse in it's offerings but nowadays every program that was once presented by a white male or dealt with white man history now has to be Woked and now the BBC mainly seems to cater to women, gays, trans and people of color. The BBC now has become the appologists channel. And unless that changes any change from the current politics infesting Dr Who is out of the question.

Yes, exactly! I was literally OBSESSED with Doctor Who, it was a huge part of my childhood, and I was such a fan. I still believe David Tennant to be one of the greatest actors still living. I regretfully stopped watching when they simply wouldn't stop pushing their woke agenda, thereby ruining the show. I got excited when I found out that David Tennant was returning to the role for the 60th anniversary, thinking I'd actually love to see that. But of course, it's still mucked up by the woke ideology, so I'm sadly probably going to have to stay away from it. Something which I find very disappointing indeed.

The 60th Anniversary Specials have now also tainted the Tennant and Davies era of Doctor Who. Fortunately I can still watch the Classic Who series, until BBC starts censoring, revising and editing them to retroactively comply with their ESG and DEI policy. The partnership with Disney can only make things worse. As Doctor Who is still a British show, Disney doesn’t have to abide by the WGA agreement, and this will affect the writers and other issues outside of the USA.

You bring up a good point, because before now (if memory serves) the original Tennant/Davies era was for the most part untouched by woke references, except for a couple of very small things along the way. Which was a pleasant surprise because the Eccelston and Smith seasons both suffered from a good dose of that. And as I recall, the Capaldi years weren't too bad , save for a few things here and there. Personally, I felt that Season 8 was an improvement over the Matt Smith years (though don't get me wrong, Smith himself was a good doctor but I'm talking about the content of the script here).
@wonder2wonder Would you mind elaborating on some of the things you mentioned in your above post? I'm not familiar with the terms ESG, DEI, and WGA, and was wondering what all that meant.
One thing that really surprises me is that so many of you agree with me. I thought for sure I'd be a lone wolf in how I feel about the direction of this series, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one bothered by all this woke crap. I've been feeling like getting back into Doctor Who lately (the good parts anyway), and I'm considering diving into the Tom Baker years. I've had the discs for a while, but somehow never got around to watching them. Not to detail the thread topic, but is he truly as good as everyone says?

WGA: Writers Guild of America.
As you might have read, there was a strike this year in Hollywood. An agreement was reached, but it only affects the members of the WGA, which represents the American writers. British writers will not benefit from it and the partnership between Disney and the BBC means that the previous payment structure which existed will be changed, so that these writers will now lose their ownership and residuals to any stories they have written or write in the future to Disney.
ESG: Environmental, social and governance.
It is a framework used to assess an organization's business practices and performance on various sustainability and ethical issues.
Investors look at this score to determine, for example, if they will invest in a production company.
DEI: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
There are mandatory quotas, and DEI has become an integral part of ESG, as companies are including their DEI targets and goals in their ESG reporting, so that they will get a higher ESG score, and attract more investors.
Tom Baker is my favourite Doctor Who of the Classic Who Era. Of course each Doctor is distinctive and everyone has their own opinion about who is the best. Not all episodes will be as good and the sound and cinematography are nothing compared to modern Doctor Who, but I like them all anyway, because it is so much fun to immerse oneself - unperturbed by contemporary issues - in the Doctor Who adventures through time and space, while eating a bag of jelly babies.
Here is the discussion board for the Classic Doctor Who.

Thanks so much for your response, wonder. I appreciate the information, as well as your recommendation of classic Who. It will certainly be a refreshing treat to see Doctor Who back when entertainment was more important than pushing an agenda.

You're welcome.
I hope you'll enjoy the Classic Doctor Who with its own unique kind of pizzazz, be it in colour or plain black-and-white. And instead of popcorn, try some of the Doctor's jelly beans.
