Discuss The Ray Bradbury Theater

Item: The Ray Bradbury Theater

Language: en-US

Type of Problem: Incorrect_content

Extra Details: How do I unlock a season so I can add episodes to season, or is that something the TMDB support team needs to do? The Ray Bradbury Theater TV show is missing episodes, and some of the episodes listed on TMDB don't match up with the IMDB website.

I recently purchased the "complete" set of episodes and would like to update these entries.

Thanks for your report! slight_smile

Yes, only moderators can unlock seasons.

The Ray Bradbury Theater TV show is missing episodes, and some of the episodes listed on TMDB don't match up with the IMDB website.

When you click on the following link, you can see that there are already 4 older issue reports for this show:

https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/5656-the-ray-bradbury-theater/discuss

When you click on the second report, you can read that there's a controversy about how to organize episodes into seasons - and that one of my co-moderators, Banana, locked everything in January 2020.

I recently purchased the "complete" set of episodes and would like to update these entries.

TMDb always tries to achieve to order episodes/seasons exactly after they aired first on the original network. So, if you can provide the original order for this show based on your set of episodes, we moderators could unlock the seasons. In other words -> what is your source and are you sure that this is the original order? You can either reply here or in the older thread - and someone will look into it (I'm not familiar with this content, so someone else will).

PS: I'm going to hide/delete your other report about the same topic - one report is enough! wink

There are two sources that list addition episodes not listed on the TMDb website. Those sites are the IMDB website and in Wikipedia, here are their links. Both sites match my complete DVD series of "The Ray BradBury Theater" series.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088591/episodes?season=1

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ray_Bradbury_Theater_episodes

Sorry for the double reporting.

A third episode source is Amazon’s Prime services. Prime is show the episodes on their video service and they match the other two sources.

It's odd, but after syncing the metadata, all of the episodes displayed correctly per their Season. I don't understand the TMDb website shows Season 1 & 2 with 3 episodes, but it synced correctly with Season 1 having 6 episodes and Season 2 with 12 episodes.

Can you explain what I'm doing wrong?

I'm very sorry, but I don't understand what you mean here?!? I don't know what you mean by "after syncing the metadata" - do you use some kind of media player (plex or something like that)? Unfortunately, I can't say anything about those media players because I don't use them.

About the sources you mention -> IMDb, Wikipedia and Amazon are all not original sources per se, because they are either aggregated, user-contributed data bases and/or re-releases of the original tv release on HBO / USA Network. It doesn't mean they are wrong - it just means that they are not original sources. Right now, I don't have much time to explain this further -> the main problem here is that we can't be sure if the information is accurate.

What I want to ask you -> does your complete DVD series come with a booklet or any other material that has information about the original tv release? Is there any additional information about the air dates or the original order?!?

In regards to the episodes, one of the sources at Wikipedia is this webpage:

http://www.innermind.com/myguides/guides/bradbury.htm

This webpage looks very good and informative to me, but the person who collected all the data, Loren Heisey, admits at the end/bottom in regards to the air dates:

"The dates for the HBO episodes are unconfirmed. The date given for USA is the first airing date as well as it could be determined."

I don't know this show at all, but I would trust this person and use the order that is displayed on this webpage for TMDb for now. As I wrote in my post above, another moderator will have to look into it, because I don't feel comfortable to change this myself. You have to wait until another moderator sees this and makes a decision about going forward with changing it. hourglass_flowing_sand
