Discuss Orphan Black

Well, it's over. I'm sad that the show is over, but I'm actually happy with the ending and I think that's a first for me, ever. I usually don't like the series finales of shows.

But I got my Helena ending! That's what I was hoping for. OK, it wasn't exactly like her dream from when she was stuck in the box in the desert, but it was pretty close. I was a little sad that Rachael wasn't there, but I understand on all sides why she wasn't. I'd like to think that in five or so years they'll all come to terms with each other and MAYBE she'll start coming around and want to be with them and they her. But if not, that's OK too. She may be happiest now on her own. That's really all she wanted anyway. To be her own person without the other Lytas.

I'm sad all the Castors are gone though, especially Ira.

I'd like to know what became of that bitch Neolution agent, but I'm glad Westmorland and Cody are gone for good. I'd seriously hoped though that Helena had killed her when she bashed her head into the table (repeatedly, lol).

What really surprised me though, is that usually I can't stand scenes of women giving birth, and I turn my head away and cover my ears, but tonight I was rooting her on. I knew the first born was going to be a boy, but I'd hoped the second one would be a girl. I like though that Helena broke the, well, whatever you want to call it and gave birth to boys instead of girls.

TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FOUR Lytas! I'm a little disappointed that Delphine and Cosima are inoculating them anonymously. I hope someday they all get to know each other and who they all are. I'd also like to think that there are a few more who aren't infertile. I just don't believe that Sarah and Helena are the only ones who can have kids.

One thing I'm curious about though that I might have (OK, probably) missed throughout the show. When Charlotte was first introduced, was it made clear if she can grow up, or is she forever going to be the young kid she is now?

I'm very happy about the ending. So relieved to finally see Sarah letting her guard down and show some vulnerability. To see them gathered in the garden without a care in the world, what a victory after a long and hard battle. We didn't get to see Kira much though, that surprised me, but I guess the focus was on letting us know that "our" sisters are going to be ok, their legacy will continue to live on and that there is a cure.

Definitely. And as annoyed as I was getting with Kira, the last couple of episodes I was OK with her again, so obviously her rebellion/temper tantrum days were limited. And yeah, to a point I could understand how she was feeling, it was just irritating that after so long of her being a good, understanding kid, suddenly she was acting out. So when she finally calmed down again I was happy.

I think you hit it as to why the end didn't focus on her anymore after she was rescued. There really wasn't much point. After Neolution was exposed and their plan failed, there wasn't any need to go after her anymore. She was safe. So yes, the focus would be on the sisters and making sure that they're finally OK. And after all these years of fighting for the right to simply exist like everyone else, it's good to see that it's happening.

After being subjected to many terrible series finales it is indeed refreshing, maybe even joyous, to have one that ends on such a perfect note. No ambiguity. No WTF. It all just really works out. After all the characters have been through they\we needed this ending. Having some remanent of Dyad or Frederick (whom we ever did find out exactly what happened though S shot him his body was not mentioned being found with hers) peering around a corner in the final frame would have been an "ugh" for me, a let down. Surely we know in reality there are no happy endings or perfect outcomes; so thankfully the writers and producers of "Orphan Black" allowed us to have one. Just sunshine and a day at the beach. With fishing. :)

Thank you Thank you Tatiana for all you gave to this show. Looking very forward to your next project!

i'm glad it had a happy ending. the acting was always superb.

Yes, I agree. I also loved the ending. I've been watching Orphan Black since 2013 and I was very sad to see it end. But I'm glad it ended while it was still great.
